Oct 7 - 10

Math:
  • Students are practicing comparing and ordering fractions with denominators of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 as well as 0 and 1 using a "clothesline activity". Ask your student about it.
  • We continue to look at combining parts of a whole using pattern blocks, as well as other representations of fractions such as circles, rectangles/squares and strips. In doing so, we are examining the meaning of common denominators in order to add two or more fractions together.
Science:
  • Animal and Plant adaptations assignment was due on Wednesday.
  • We wrapped up our investigation of animal adaptations with a case study of the Koala bear.
Thank you to all parents and students who came to student conferences this Thursday and Friday. It was great to connect and share all of the learning so far this year!
